In the old days before ATM’s were everywhere, MAC machines were Philly’s first introduction to conveniently getting some cash out. They were all over the region and when you needed some cash you would say “I’m gonna go tap Mac”. When you need some cash, it’s much cooler to say that you’re gonna go tap Mac than to say that you have to stop by the ATM machine. Maybe a cool singer will say tap Mac in one of their songs and the phrase will catch fire. Because it’s lit. The Tap Mac from Philly Eyeworks is a chunky frame with a retro feel. roundish/squarish lens shape. Tap Mac is also the same shape as our Whiz Wit model, just a little bit bigger.

Philly Eyeworks frames are made of high-quality, hand-polished acetate.

Our matte-finish frames have the final layer of polish sandblasted off, leaving a cool, raw look.

Many of our colors are hand-finished in our Philadelphia workshop.
