The length of an eye exam depends on the type of exam, and whether or not your eyes are dilated.
We strongly recommend you return for a follow-up exam because improperly fitting lenses may feel ok to the wearer, but can cause long-term ocular issues and problems. A follow-up exam ensures you have the most comfortable, best fitting, and healthiest lenses available specifically for your eyes.
In general, we recommend a Comprehensive Eye Exam every 12 - 24 months. However, depending on your situation (e.g. family history of eye disease, past history of problems, etc.), and/or if you wear eyeglasses, and/or if you are over the age of 40, we recommend a Comprehensive Eye Exam every 12 months. Contact lenses wearers should have a Contact Lens Exam every year.
